About Me

Hello friends, followers and anyone else who may be reading this.

My name is Jessica – but you can call me Jess – and I’m currently studying a Bachelor of Mass Media and Communication majoring in Journalism at La Trobe University, Australia.

I have recently graduated a Diploma of Mass Media and Communication at the top of my class.

I’m an aspiring journalist and photographer and I will be using this site more as a portfolio for my work rather than as a traditional blog. That being said, I will most likely be posting some standard blog content as well.

Most of my pieces will be related to events that are in the news at the time or current affair topics but you can also expect some soft news and posts about other things that interest me.

One of these things is animal welfare issues. There will be a strong focus on this topic as I am very passionate about it and believe that there should be more media coverage and general social discourse when dealing with such a large problem.

Another recurring theme will be my “We Need To Talk About:” section. This is where I’ll post about topics that aren’t necessarily in the news but, are, in my opinion, important to discuss.

Other than that I’ll mostly just be discussing things to do with society and life in general and sharing photos I’ve taken under my brand JMPJ Photography.

If this sounds like something you would be interested in, come have a look around. I’ll always respond to comments and welcome any feedback.

If you feel inclined you can also contact me via email at jesspowell1096@hotmail.com or through any of my personal social media accounts which are linked to on this blog.

Thanks, Jess.
